1850년에 설립된 카톨릭계 종합대학으로 미국내 카톨릭 계열 대학중 가장 규모가 큰 대학입니다. 학부생과 대학원생을 합쳐 약 만명의 학생이 재학중이며 대학부설로 영어연수 프로그램을 운영하고 있습니다.
-부설 집중영어과정은 6단계 레벨로 4주와 10주 과정이 있으며 주당 25시간 수업입니다.
-Business and professional 프로그램은 사회에서 전문직에 종사하고 있는 분들을 위한 영어 프로그램입니다.
-개인교습과 고등학생을 위한 프로그램도 제공합니다. 데이턴은 인구 16만의 소도시로 주변 위성도시들과 함께 대도시권을 이룹니다. |

집중영어과정[주단 수업시간 25시간] -주당25시간 수업 -6단계레벨 -10주와 4주과정
The Intensive English Program prepares students to continue in an academic program at either the University of Dayton or another university of their choice. Through a combination of individual attention, intense English language study and immersion in the American culture, students are equipped with the skills needed to be successful in an academic program on an American campus.
Every term, courses are offered in:
grammar
reading and writing
listening and speaking
Special courses are also offered in TOEFL preparation, writing, the dynamics of the American classroom, research paper writing, and pronunciation.
Testing and placement
Students take a placement test upon their arrival to campus. The test examines the students' capabilities in listening, composition, reading and grammar. Students are also interviewed to test their speaking level. Results of the test determine the student's placement in the appropriate course level.
Level one: Beginning level for students with no knowledge of English.
Level two: Students have some basic knowledge of English. The student understands English and can be understood with difficulty.
Level three: Intermediate level for the student who can understand and read with some ease, but makes frequent mistakes in writing and speaking. Student has knowledge of some grammatical structures.
Level four: High intermediate level for the student who can read and understand with ease but makes occasional mistakes in writing and spelling. Student has control over many grammatical structures.
Level five: Advanced level for the student who has control over grammatical structures and makes few writing and spelling mistakes, but lacks full fluency. |
