Homestay
Homestay accommodation is the usual and most popular form of accommodation, and a great way to learn about New Zealand culture as well as the chance to experience the local lifestyle and practice spoken English.
New Zealand host families are carefully chosen for you to stay with. Your family will provide you with a single bedroom, at least two meals per day and clean bed linen and towels at least once a week. All homestay families are monitored by Queens Academy.
Homestay accommodation costs NZ$200 per week and is subject to a homestay booking fee (refer to fees section). Most students will either stay in a homestay for the duration of their study or at least for the first few weeks. You will have to give your homestay two weeks notice if you want to move out.
Queens has an established relationship of trust with its homestay families and regularly inspects all homestays to ensure they meet our quality standards. As a precaution, all adults in homestay families are police checked. If you have any concerns or queries regarding your homestay arrangements or conditions you should speak to our Accommodation Officer.
